Okay, so I've got the truck to fire after replacing practically all the ignition components... now to install the carb and fuel pump... dad already had put a weber on there, I ordered the exact same one so im not worried about that. But I've never done a mechanical fuel pump, anyone have any advice on swapping this out?

Piece of cake!
Remove the 3 hoses, and the mounting bolts. If it doesn't come right off, a couple light taps with a ratchet handle should break it loose.
Be careful not to damage the plastic spacer. If it sticks to the head when the pump is removed, I suggest leaving it alone. At this age, they're prone to breakage.

To install the new one, just reverse the removal procedure.

My pump came with 2 gaskets and the plastic spacer, so its okay to remove it?

Still not running!!! I have fuel and spark but not sure if fuel pressure regulator is working...

You shouldn't need a regulator, but if you have fuel, it's probably not a problem.
How about some background on the truck? Was it running before you changed the pump?
Do you have adequate compression? Timing?

Okay... The truck was my dads and broke down for reasons unknown... he worked on it and gave up.... 3 years later enter me. I go to working on it. Dad says he went down to head gasket and redid everything. After research and my previous posts I discover not getting spark. All ignition components were replaced. Ignition control module, pick up coil, cap, rotor, plugs, wires, coil, ignition switch. I'm now getting spark, timing is correct. Dad also did the weber conversion with the pacesetter header. I ordered the same exact kit and replaced the carb with a brand new one. Also replaced the fuel pump. So I'm sparking, the carb smells like gas, the motor is turning over great, but when I give it gas while cranking it, it seems like it catches but I dont know how to explain it, it seems heavy, like it doesn't have the power to spin it all the way over... The truck is an 87 b2200 5 speed, 130k miles, never had a problem until it broke down on Dad 3 years or so ago and I been trying for the past 6 months or so working on it. Oh, drained the bad gas, blew the lines out and replaced the fuel filter.

Also after trying to crank it for a couple of days I already have caught some dirtyness in the filter and replaced it again, I now have nice clear fuel in the filter...

Will it start if you dribble a little gas down the carb?
