Will a set of 215 55 17 tires fit on a stock height B2200 or is there a better size tire?
Here's a tool for you. Plug your tire sizes in, and this will give you the numbers you need.
Yes, a 215/55/17 is slightly shorter than the stock tires size. The actual 17" size for a stock height truck would be 225/55/17.
Keep in mind almost nobody on here is stock height, so nobody runs that tire - lots run a 205/40/17 but currently I have 215/35/17 in front with a 265/35/18 rear (going to a 245/35/18)
As long as your rims are the correct offset you should be fine with 215/55/17 as it is almost the identical dimensions as stock.
Thanxs, I have a set of 17" Silverado Rims that I had the center hole enlarged. I don't plan to lower the truck, just wanted to have some wheels that looked a little better. Found a good deal on almost new set of 215 55 17 tires and don't want to make a mistake on tire size.
If the 215 55 17 tire is close to a stock 205 75 14 size. Is there any advantage, other than look to change?
It'll work no problem as long as you stay stock or not too low.
Looks and handling
At the expense of some comfort (not much)
Thanxs for all the input. My stock tires were 195 70 14, so by going to the 215 55 17 I did gain width and height. I have the tires mounted on the rims now just waiting for UPS to bring some lug nuts to me.
stock tire size is 205/75r14 for 2wd.
Correct, the 195/70/14 that he was running are smaller than stock.
