Timing adjustment direction?

To adjust the timing on a 2.6l which direction is advance vs retard?

Looking at the distributor from the drivers side fender, do you rotate it toward the radiator or toward the firewall to advance the timing?

Looking at the distributor from the drivers side fender adjustment is as follows:

Counter clockwise retards timing (towards radiator)

Clockwise advances timing (towards firewall).

My '93 2.6 has a sticker on hood saying it should be set at 5* BTDC (before top dead center).

And yes, it was off--I was at 4* ATDC (after top dead center). Seems to run much better now. . .
