ecu needed?

I plan on doing a emissions removal and a weber install. I also understand that there are solenoids on the stock carb that run to the ECU. should I remove the ecu or just not worry about it.

I just left my ECU where it was, and wrapped up all the un-needed wire connections in the engine compartment.
