The sending unit does seem to go out at 15 to 20 years, consider a new one if yours is bad, because R&R later will require tilting the bed up for access. Only the automatic B2200 have the fuel pump in the tank.

Of course, there are different tanks and senders for regular cabs and Cab Plus....

Axel Breaker Earl told me if you gently bend the contact point for the sender unit it will work just fine. It's the bracket that rides on the coils.

As Cusser said, only the Automatics have a fuel pump inside the fuel tank. Dan

Mine is a straight drive short bed. I was mainly considering replacing the sending unit while I had the tank out so I wouldn't have to drop the tank again later down the road. The truck had been sitting for a few years until I recently got it back on the road.

So when I order my parts...all I need is the tank, lock ring and sending unit? Thanks for the help guys.

That is true, did that to mine, worked for about three years more. When it later went bad, Mrs. Cusser got me a factory one from . So you might need the VIN number too.

Fuel filter too. Not part of ur gas tank but a good thing to change. Good luck!!
