I would loop the lines instead of plugging them.

Why do you want to remove it? Is it broken?

If it's not leaking... Why not just take the belt off if you want manual steering? Why do you need a smaller belt - the power steering belt doesn't run anything else.

On a completely unrelated subject, I like your truck imrjbitch. Stance is nice, gold rims are unusual but in a good way. Nice!

Go to the salvage yard and buy a manual steering box would be the correct way to do it

why remove it? VW's and fieros without are ok with stock sized tires, but bumping up to a 215 on a fiero made turning the wheel with no forward/back car movement a full on workout. I've driven mini trucks without, and turning while stopped takes forever since you have to hand over hand the dang steering wheel to turn. Remember you have all the motor weight on your front tires that you have to work against.

Idler pulley is not difficult to replace, and typically under $40, maybe less if you just replace the bearing part. I replaced my power steering pump a few years ago, was under $120, lifetime warranty.
