I have been trying to change my coolant temp sensor for like two weeks now. I order and the plugs dont fit. I am now on my third try. Yet another thing has arised today, since my issue is the gauge isnt working then maybe its the temp switch. My question for all you mazdattics, where is the switch located? I can get one at autozone, yet dont know where to put the switch in. Any help would be nice, just let me know what you can. Thanx
It actually called the temp sending unit......find it undo the wire and ground the wire and see if your temp guage moves if it moves the sending unit is bad
My issue is not knowing where it is. I think its somewhere on the head or block, at least thats what the guy at the parts store said. I want to know exactly where its located. If anyone happens to know thanks.
should be on or by the water neck for the upper radiator hose
what size engine check this site
Thanks man, I will see if I can find the damn thing. Ill test it and let you know what I discover. Thanks for the info.
Same issue as ridinlow84
gauge doesnt work. ground wire from sender, gauge moves... need sender
87 b2200, the temp sender is located on the bottom of the thermostat housing.
pulled mine today, so far 0 for 2.
the following "senders/sensors" look right, one nipple pin contact, but the threads are too small for the hole it goes into(slides right in)
(threads should be larger than probe, but smaller than the nut)
DONT WORK:
Oreillys - BWD - Temperature Sender Part Number: WT608
Autozone - Duralast/Temperature Switch WELLS PN TU77
the rest of the stock in those stores for anything coolant/sensor related was with the plastic connector for the PCM, or the flat blade connect for the carb coolant temp sensor...
anyone know a real part number and where to get the coolant temp sender?
nm, oreillys called me back with another one:
BWD
PN: WT515
fits, seems to work. (my gauge now moves, but barely. though i think its a lack of thermostat from whoever had it last...)
that one fits an 86 Mazda B2200 carb
Thanks for posting this NssJ I'm sure it will really help someone out
