For those with a FE3 swap, what's the approx maximum weight that the B-Series is able to tow while being able to maintain highway speeds with about a 20 degree incline (with or without a cab for better aerodynamics)?
thanks.
I thought we had discussed this fully in the other thread you posted regarding this. . .and that you had found that the truck was laboring under the minimal use you put it to.
It really doesn't matter if you add 40 horsepower via a kia swapover. . .you still have a truck with the same brakes, the same differential, and the same transmission.
That 20% grade that you need to climb? Think about the extra mass you will need to have a transmission strong enough to handle. . .or a clutch. . . or u-joints.
The same u-joints will be attempting to hold the overweighted trailer against engine compression when you start your 20 % downgrade. . .and if one of them lets go, think about the sub-standard brakes that you will then be forced to pray work once they get hot and the brake fluid vaporizes from the heat.
I don't know why, but I get a sense of "it won't happen to me" with your series of posts regarding your attempts to tow a trailer with a vehicle that just isn't designed to do what you are trying to force it to do.
You ask enough people, and eventually you will listen to the 98 % that say don't do it, or the one fool that says you can do anything.
