ok ill try to keep it short and sweet i have a 2 year old boy to go along with all six kids we have in summer(yes i said 6)
im looking for any helpful tips for a budget build
i have a 1988 cabplus (see my garage) and a 1986 ive stripped so i have some parts

what i want to do
1......low as i can and retain some kind of ride
2......flip the ball joinst (how much drop do i get??)
3......find some pathies or stock 86 nissan rims...you can dress them up nice
4.....c notch the back....what kind of welder....mig...or ..arc
5.....shave everything

any suggestions on cost cutting corners ?????????????

you can save alot of money when it comes to your valves! If you just want to get by you dont need the top of the line valves which can sometimes save you 100+

i think ill opt for some 195/50/15 next then some after market bumpstops... i cut the stock stops a lil too short and it hits kinda hard...lol

c notch the ass, get rid of the bumpstops, put air shocks on. on front, flip the bjs, get rid of bumpstops, reindex torsion bars and you'll ride fine...

On a budjet I'd go wit a static drop, forget about a bag system, and buying a welder big enough to add a c notch. it's too expensive, and you would kill a modest budget right there, tools gotta pay fer themselves, are there any shops around to help ya?
The question is, what talents and tools do ya already posess????????
Put them to use first then consider weather having something done by a pro or buying the tools is cheaper.

WHAT IS THE BUDGET?????

Consider finding chev rims too, they are plentiful and larger, which is needed for drop clearance, for safety you want your wheel rim to sit lower than yer suspension parts or else you will be skating if ya git a flat.

thats why i said to use airshocks... they are easy to run, install in the stock location... EASY! oh, also run like 4" angled blocks... or 3"...

its true if you got everything ready then had a local mobile welder come out ant welded up it would be cheaper than buyin one....unless of couce your just lookin for an excuse to justify tools..hahah im always doin that...damn snap-on guy i hate you!
