you have to make sure you have that white spacer OVER the clip otherwise everytime you put the crank back on, it will push the clip off. the white ring prevents this. also when you put them on, close the window first and put the crank part to about 1 oclock in position. this keeps the knob out of your knee when closed and opened....

Just do what I did....throw the door panels away and start new.....LOL. Seriously those tools do the trick.
