Need help when buyer of truck ran red light & got ticket

So I sold my pickup and some time later, the guy ran a red light and got a ticket, but the damn thing came to me. Now, i had packed up to move, so i have NO idea where bill of sale and such are. I'm trying to avoid going to court just to hold up the picture and prove it's not me, but i worry that without this info, no dice. Any ideas?

you needed to turn in a vehicle report of sale with in two weeks....

should be able to get on dmv web site an flag it as sold and add buyers name and such.

how ever not doing this before this happened, you still may have to go and prove it.

got any receipts or deposit slips or something like that?

when is the ticket dated? what is the date of the sale or owner/registration transfer?

take the bill of sale to the DMV and get whatever paperwork you can and take it to court. As long as the dates all match up, the ticket should be dropped from your record,and either the other guy will get off the hook,or it will be transferred to him.

I'm not a lawyer or a judge,so just see what happens. Better to do something than nothing.

I had done the release of liability online within a couple of day. i thought that's all there was to it for the seller, i guess not. the ticket is dated a full 5 MONTHS after he bought the damn pickup.

Did you leave your tags on it? Just wondering how it got your address.

Honestly ur screwed U have to do it within a hour of selling a vehicle I wouldnt wait any longer ever.. People get towed it comes back and no way out No matter.. Ur ticket..
all means thats my point of view I am a buyer seller of vehicles I have lots of exsperiance....
