Hey everyone I'm new to the scene.
My story...
I got my first Mazda truck about 2 years ago. It was a B2000 pretty beat up but it was free so what could I really complain about. After receiving the truck I was soon bitten by the modification bug and started to think about really fixing my truck up. Lucky for me my bro is a mechanic and likes to fiddle with body work and painting too. So it was pretty much decided, off we went to check out what we'd have to do to get my truck looking and performing better. Unfortunately my dream was extinguished pretty quickly as we realized that although the out side had some rust damage the frame was a goner. When I jacked it up and was putting it on stands my frame basically bent in half right where the bed meets the cab. Upon further inspection we saw that the frame had almost rotten through. Made me shudder to think I drove that thing home. After some quick thought we decided that it would be best for me to find and better truck and salvage what we could.
A little looking and I found a B2200 for $200 bucks. The body was way better except for the inside of the bed (rust again, can't escape it in Hawaii). The engine was shot too but other than that it was a pretty solid struck. Took it home ripped everything out checked the frame and salvage what I could from my B2000 mostly the engine and transmission. I wanted the manual trans. from the B2000. Added a Webber Carb., PaceSetter Headers, a MSD, and Flowmaster Exhaust. Now she's up and running and is currently my daily driver.
When the money comes back I hope to start the body and suspension work, then redo the engine and customize the inside. If all goes well; I hope it won't be more then a 10yr project...hehehe or sooner of course.
