cab seams

anyone here shave the cab seams above the C pillars on the 88-00 style trucks ? i'm thinkin of cleaning the filler out of them really good and welding up the seam , then using fibergflass filler to build thearea up., but i'm worried about cracking. any thoughts?

yea have done it on 3 of them but none of them have ever seen the highway long enuff to test for cracking they have all been trailer queens.. in my personal opionin i wouldnt do it the cab HAS to flex somewhere and thats what there for. in not doing it on mine.... what im doing in digging all the old seem sealer out and put a good sandable self leveling seem sealer in there sanding it flat and paint over.. will almost look gone but will still flex

I have done it 2 my 95 chevy and they cracked, grinded back out and beat down sharp edge told to do by bodyman and it cracked so now im changing cabs so it want crack again.
