so im going to keep my stock 16 inch wheels i have a 85 gmc what size tire do i need to lay fraim??? thanks for the help

It all depends on the setup. It could be a 225/75-16, it could be a 235/85-16, etc.

what do u mean??? it is bag over axle 235/75/16 out back and 245/85/16 in front at this time need smaller

What I mean is it depends on the size of the notch, whether it has spindles, etc. That info is needed in order for you to get your answer.

225/75/16 is the common tire size used on 3500 trucks nowadays. However in your case a 235/85/16 would have been the stock tire size.

If you want to lay frame, I would go with a 225/75/16 and do the necessary trimming. This way down the road if you want to upgrade wheel sizes you can go with the same height tire.
