STEERING PARTS

I am looking to replace all of my steering parts tierod ends inner and outer, steering box, pitman arm, drag link, idler arm, ect. I have already replaced the rag joint and steering shaft with Borgeson items. My question is does anybody make any of the cool new heim joint tie rod ends for sq body trucks. I have been seeing them a lot and thought they might work better. Also who sells the best quality other steering parts I am looking for? Thanks in advance.

Dunno on the heim joint tie rods, but as far as the other parts - you want to go TRW or Moog, and also beware that just like any other manufacturer, they can have two different lines of quality available. I forget who has what now but there's a top end and a "everyday joe" type line.

Best bet is to go to a real parts store like a NAPA and see what they offer. Always, always skip Vatozone, O'Reilly, Pest Boys, etc. because they're typically only carrying the cheap crap.

We always use the Moog brand that comes in the yellow/blue box. Our O'Reilly store carries the top and sub line of every major brand.

Good to know; quite a few years ago I got good stuff from O'Reilly for building the front on my '92 but I've seen it is the tendency for those places to go for the cheap stuff as time passes. Guess my advice in general is just beware there's more than one grade in the same brand so don't only shop by the name.
