i can pick up a 1 ton srw axle. but it has 3.73 gears, and from what ive researched i would need to run bigger inner wheels. i am going to putting 22's on with 16" inners and laying it out. is it possible to strip the axle down to nothing and put my dually stuff in it for a shorter rear end so i dont have to stretch the fenders? the srw axle is 67.5". is that too short or what?? and also are the 3.73 gears better than 4.10?
I went from 4.10's to 3.73's when installing the C&C rear in my truck for lower revs on the high way.
What year truck are you working on? What year SRW truck did the axle come out of?
Dually 16s will not fit on the SRW drums and I dont know if the drums will interchange. Also the measurement you gave for the SRW axle is longer than most factory dually axles.
