Hey Guy's... Ive got a question Im sure someone has gone through. I have an '87 crew cab that Ive done an axle flip on the rear with two springs removed and stock shackles. Up front I have 2" drop spindles and cut 2 complete coils of of the heavy duty stock front springs. My question is what size 16" tire can I use and still have some type of steering. I see so far that the inner fenders will have to be removed. My truck has a 454 engine w/ iron heads. The stock tire is a 235/85/16 that will hit the fender while turning, slightly even.
Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Try a 225/75/16. That's what I run with the same drop.

...Thank-you Much....I believe I can get this tire size for a reasonable price. Im gonna have to run the 16's until next year. Hopefully be able to afford a set of 22's

you gotta have them hosted somewhere. I do photo bucket. Then simply compy one of the available addresses for the pic into the body of your post. Hit preveiw. if it just shows the address...delete that then use another...lol

the IMG code works on this forum.

I need to see pics, my Western Chassis kit was delivered yesterday (minus the spindles or any paperwork) I am guessing that I will make my own template for cutting the frame. As for front tires I think a 235/60/16 is the shortest with an acceptable load range. I am going to keep the tall rubber on the rear for gear ratio...besides, all my hot rods run bigs an littles
