trans help.... 68 Cadillac

I have a 68 cadi and i want to swap out the Turbo Hydra-Matic 400 for something a little more highway friendly. i was thinking a 700r4 but i dont want to have to worry about the torque from the motor blowing it apart. Has anyone out there heard of or have done this?

No one knows if the turbo 400 and 700r4 are interchangable?
