Looking up a set of licence plates?

Over in New Zealand we have a web site that you can enter a set of licence plates to see what vehicle they are registerd to
 
e.g RDGR8A - http://www.carjam.co.nz/car/?plate=rdgr8a
 
I have a set of Minnesota plates that I am inquisitive to find out what they were registerd to
 
 
 
 
Is there a similar site I could look into over in the US?

not that i have seen. but i have heard of people  somehow tracking down plates to buy them so i guess its possible

I collect license plates and I've never heard of it either.

I think you have to go down to the mvd and pay for the records.

get a cop buddy to run the plate??????

wreker companies and cops can run plates. If you have a friend in either they should be able to do the favor. If not go down to the DMV and find out from them. They definatelly would know.

lol i dont think he can go to the dmv,as he is in new zealand.
