4 link? wich way to point the triangle?

for the upper triangulated bars. i think i read max saying it should be pointed to the front but i see tons of trucks pointing it to the rear. im running bags on the lower bars and if i point the triangle to the front ill have to bend the bars to clear the bags. so i was thinking if i point it to the rear and move the bags closer to the rear end it will work without have to bend the bars. whats the cons?

Run them forward and do what you need to to fit them in. Running them rearward is pretty much all cons and no pros. For starters you will get an undesirable amount of pinion change with one set of bars going each direction which will be amplified with the additional lift your leveraged bag mounting provides you. The list goes on and on really, check out the 4 link sticky if you haven't already. Its chock full of all kinds of good learnin'. Good luck with your project man

It sounds like the 4 link is all forward and is asking about the mounting points. as in < or >  I like to mount the 2 close points together on the crossmember and the fatehr apart ones on the axle tubes, but I have done the points close together on the axle before just to try it out.

Perhaps I misinterpreted the question... If you are just anking where the bars should come to a point on an all forward setup the answer is the chassis,  The point where the 2 bars come to a point is your roll center and it is ideal to have it mounted to a fixed point(your frame) If you have the bars arriving at a point on the differential housing your roll center will move as your suspension cycles.

ya im not talking about reverse four link. im talking about what slammed x on air is saying.

I'm not really sure that it would matter, you should still have the same amount of pivot. I think that it would depend weather you need more clearance on the pumpkin or not. There are tuns of variations. If you want to keep the gas tank location, run it how you need it. People 3 link all the time to get around removing stuff.

The differnce will be where you rear end pivots from. If it is on the axle then only the axle will pivot. If the point is on the frame then the whole thing (axle and links) will pivot around that point. The axle will "swing" more if the point is on the frame. Either way will work, but I would say the most desirable way would be to have the point on the top of the diff.

Where the bars intersect will effect your roll center, but it won't really matter to you unless you plan on running some road courses in your truck. Set it up with whatevers convenient, as long as its all forward.

My top bars closest point is on top of the diff. with super pivot bar ends & it handles very well that way. I have even run it through some curves at speed & yeah no problems!
