clearance between upper links and frame

i want to run the upper link bars as wide as possible on the axle so how much room should i leave between the frame and the link tabs?

1/2 i would guess.

ha, i laughed out loud when i read that. i used to work with this guy that would always get confused when i'd say shit like that. i'd be like cut it at 5/8ths, nooo cut it at 10/16thsand he'd sit there and ask "well which one is it?"
