s10 4.3 vortec help

i am in need of some info or a new engine does anybody know what the difference between a 93 4.3  and a 96 is the shoet block the same i cant find a 96- 99 motor for my blazer and there r tons of 93 -94 motors just dont know what to do bt if any bodys got a motor for sale that i need and is close to indianapolis  let me know thanks

if im correct 96-07 or so 4.3's should be the same block, gm still uses them with a dist in the new model trucks, so i think its the same just all the assy. are different

The 93 does not have a balance shaft which is located above the cam in the block and the cylinder heads are diferent those motors are the same 96 up those motors came in all kinds of vehicals astros full size vans trucks blazers find a relible junk yard and pony up      drag it        www.rolnlow.com

You wont be able to use the older block, you need the crank position sensor on the newer engine, which is in the timing case cover, and the bolt pattern is different on the older blocks. Also its a non-balance shaft block.
