Ok, so I decided I dont want my hood latch release on the interior anymore. Whats the best way to shorten the cable but still have some sort or usable cable end on it so that it will stay hooked into the latch? Not really sure how the factory one stays on there looks like it may be crimped or something.

If you just want to run it outside such as behind the bumper you can typically just loop it around.  On my old ranger I just ran towards the driver's side then looped back again to the passenger side and my release was right in front of the passenger tire

I just did mine in a similar way.....you can get the cable stays or crimps from lowes/home depot then make a small loop at the end of the cable and crimp it so you have a lil finger pull. Mine is right in front of the driver side tire so u just reach under the fender and pull the little loop!

you could mount the factory latch under the front some were and shorten the part that connects to the latch.
