I am back on my 87 Ranger project, and am looking into a few things. I want to put a newer 4.0L or maybe a 5.0 in it, fuel injected. Any one have one with working air conditioning, or know if this is feasable? I want to keep the stock hood on it also. It currently has a busted 2.9 in it.

stock hood is easy with a 4 or 5.0. vintage a/c with the stock compressor FTW.now if your running like 17s with teeny tires u might be able to keep the stock stuff.

I have a 92 with the 4.0L and i ditched the heater/ac box... it was just entirely too big to even mess with trying to keep. You might be able to run a different type of a/c setup, but i highly doubt its gonna all fit in there

awesome on the 4.0 with the stock hood. It'll be running 20's, so no room huh? I guess I'll look into the vintage AC. This one is for the wife, and she wants the AC. Thanks guys.
