I am wanting to put in a battery disconnect(one of the big switches) on my truck for when I store it and I dont want any battery drain.  Could I put this on the negative side and it prevent this or does it have to be on the positive side?  Reason being I am wanting it to cut all the power to all my accessories without having to route each of them through this switch.

i was looking into doing the same thing, and put some of those charge plugs under my bed (thats where the battery is now) so i could charge it easily. i was told by the wiring guru here at the shop that it doesnt matter which side you have the cut off switch on, itll work either way

It needs to be on the power side, only becauseany piece of electronics ground through the engine, body etc. Removing the actual battery ground should technically work, but it's not a gaurantee. On very simple electrical setups it would work, but if there are ECM's or anything that have a battery backup, it prob wouldn't work that well.
