a guy wants me to drop his 67 ford as low as possible. i havent seen it yet. he said its not i beams up front. and leaf over axle in the rear. im thinkin an axle flip and a shackle. and spindles and coils up front. i have no idea. whats available? what can be used from other trucks? is it balljoints or kingpins? anybody?

I dont see how it could not be i beams in the front, they were twin i beam from the late 50s all the way to the 90s. maybe he thought you meant a single i beam solid axle like the old daddies.

you will have to raise the suspension carrier to get it anywhere near the ground, otherwise it may look low but it will be banging and hung up everywhere. A lot of guys just clip these trucks, some others use mustang II IFS. You can get pretty low with both of those options, the front suspension is the lowest part of the truck.

I've done a 64 that was solid front axle. I had sid from droppedaxels.com drop the front axle 4" & install new kingpin bushings then dearched 3" out of the leafs. left 2.5" between axle and frame. The rear I notched and flipped the axle for 9" Im trying to find the pictures now.

he called me today, said he looked again and it is i beams. he thought i meant solid axle. he wants it really low. as low as he can go without bags. i mentioned it might be possible to use later model drop beams but i have no idea. anybody know?

okay, djm does make beams for it. for 550 bucks. not my money. i might see if they can be moved up and run shorter coils. and maybe move the leafs up. i dunno. i gotta meet up with him and see the truck myself. he said he isnt in a rush, just wants it cool by next summer.
