Any ideas on making my Bench seat recline????????????????????????????????????????????

I want to make my Burbans bench reclinable... I have some ideas on what I could do, but I dont know if they are smart ideas... Has anyone ever done it, or does anyone have any ideas??????

find a set of later model van bench seats or grind the notch in the seat stops back a little bit so they slide back more

bench seats dont recline for crash reasons

ask kurt from auto core. name on here is stcadad the front seat in his caddy reclines completly.or ask todd jubert from the interior shop im pretty sure he did the upholstry on kurts caddy

i bet it wont take as many question marks to make work.....

i'd bet on a hinge, some metal, and a few bolts. just guessing.

factory bench seats have reclined mainly split in two though. 84-88 toyotas even had a split top solid bench bottom that reclines each side. there were a few differnt ones in the 50s though that did it also.
