Notch Steel Thickness

I was about to start cutting out parts for my 4 pice notch. What size plate do you suggest. This is for a Mazda. 1/4" seem like over kill to me. Maybe 3/16 or 1/8?

3/16 would be fine.

the ones you get from fbi are 1/8th i think.

i use 3/16 sides 1/8 top and bottom
