steering setup after "Z"

I Z'd 1.5" my 02 tacoma with a traditional 3.5" bd and the steering shaft isnt close to fitting anymore. I know i can change the plate on the firewall for the new angle but what can i do to shorten the steering shaft?

Seth would know better than I do, but if my mind serves me correctly, it is a telescoping shaft and can simply be collapsed to shorten it.
