heims for tie rods

was wondering if i were to use a heim for the tie rod just mounted flat would it get as much travel as a tie rod and if it needed a misalignment spacer wouldnt that change the geometry of the steering

typically a tierod or ball joint will have more travel ability than a heim joint, even with a misalignment spacer.
