Budget got cut for the truck by a long shot, so thats probably not an option either. All it needed for a stock hood was a custom header so I could get the motor down about another inch, and a modded valve cover. But this was the cheapest option, and the option that was picked. Theres about 1/4" between the valve cover and the hood.

Would rather see it as just a straight angle like the front part or at least fix it to where the back angle=the front angle

That was the first option, and it made the cowl look huge, and the owner was against it at that point. He was still mixed until the end and says he likes it now. Thats what matters to me.

For some reason I like it in person a lot, but I'm really not sure when I look at the pictures. This is about the angle I look at it in person.

I Like it but.....I think it would look way better if you sheet metaled away from the sides and rolled it down smooth with the hood, so it looked more like a bubble than a traditional cowl. Get rid of the sharp edges. Thats my opinion.

I like it. How did you cut those slots in the back of it?

and what is that to the right of the truck?

I actually really wanted to do it this way. I thought it would have looked cool, and I would have gotten some practice in with my english wheel again. But the owner wanted the cut lines to follow the lines that are in the cowl vent. It also has to be done tomorrow. Lol. Bed and all, running and driving.

I drilled a 3/4" hole on both sides, then cut the edges with a cutoff wheel and filed it smooth.

On the right is a police car.

i meant the second half of it. and i agree smoothing it down would make it a little better. it doesnt look BAD by any means. but it's not great either, in pictures. I may say different if i were to see it in person. A custom header is what? 600 tops? damn thats not much to get a stock hood to fit.

Theres a profile on the cop car. Not much done to it yet, just jigged up lower arms.

Yeah Grant I still don't like it in pictures. Lol, but before I left I was all excited to post pictures because I thought it looked cool.

A custom header would have meant a laser cut flange and a good days work, so yeah probably around $600 or so, then a custom exhaust system, and modifying the valve cover, would have probably been around $1000 or so total. Hood was less than half that. Like I said, big budget cuts. The truck is going to sit in my garage for about a month after I take it to our car show this month because he can't afford to pay for it all right now.

I think the bend in the hood kinda matches the bodyline of the truck,if you could roll a bodyline in the hoood that would look cool!
