Well to start out I used to be in the minitruckin scene back when i had my ford ranger but i've been out for a while and now i just got this 97 nissan hardbody a few months ago and i just had to drop it... im just wondering if this is safe? i dropped the front by adjusting the torsion bars as far as they would go and i used 3" blocks on the back and removed the helper spring so it has the short spring and the main spring...
oh yeah there was one more thing i'm pretty sure that it's because the axle is shifting but every time i accelerate or let off of the gas the truck is jerking from side to side can anybody tell me for sure what that would be caused from?
It sounds like lose bolts. I used to have a 97 nissan ext cab. I first droped it just like you said. But that would be my guess.
yeah mine is a 97 extended cab... you didn't ever have any problems with the leafs breaking did you? i did the same thing on a ranger that i had as far as taking the leafs out and one of the leafs broke...
I didn't have any problems at all. I had a buddy who had a ranger and he flipped his leaf springs and the driver side ended up breaking.
well as far as leafs breaking i havent seen a HB leaf break maany have done what you did. befor i bagged mine i used a 3in block and redriled my hanger to bring it up a little that alone gave me about an 1" also i removed the bumpstops and replaced them with a smaller universal one. in the front i used drop spindles and then lowered the torsion bars 2" so give it a slight raked look.
