I actually didn't narrow the axle enough to need the splines extended. There where 2 inches of splines, and only 1" engaged from the factory. I took out 1" per side, and just cut off the end of the shaft with the water cooled Kalamazoo at school. I just bought a press so I can pull the drums of in order to spin the axles on my lathe to face them, and chamfer the corner. If I wanted to go farther I would have needed to have the splines extended, and for that I have a hookup at a machine shop.

It belongs to a friend of mine, so customer work. I wish it was mine though, I like these trucks, and he got a good deal on this one. Its straight and runs like a champ.
I'm picking up my next project this weekend though. Hopefully.
what about frank, is that finished? r u gonna finish it? and whats the new project. oh and i see you got a dimpler. lol what is that box for anyway, might be a dumb question but i cant tell what its for...
No, Frank isn't finished. I still have a long way to go and a lot of money before I will consider it done. I will finish it, but just not yet. It needs the bed work finished and body worked, and I am not looking forward to that. That and I need to finish installing the Weber on it right now. I'm having issues with making the throttle work.
I got several dimple dies, 3/4" 1" and 1.5", I want to get a 2" soon too. I just bought a small press to speed up the process too. And the box is a battery tray, the top thing being the hold down. It doesn't make sense the way its mounted, but I don't have any allthread for it yet.
And the new project, I don't want to jinx it because I am trying to pick it up today or tomorrow. Stuff usually falls through if I tell people what it is. So if I get it I will post about it. But basically it is going to be a quick and cheap (ish) project for a new shop truck.
where are you buying your dimple dies from??
I got them from Xtreme4x4.com. They are Light Racing brand.
Got any pics of the chevy?
