slam bags bolt size

what size bolts do i get for slam bags? i got 1/4" plates so what length and thread do i get?

3/8 standard bolts 1 to 1 1/2 it does not have to be to long. home depot,lowes they all have them.take the bag with you to double check

it's a 3/8-16 i usually get them in 1 1/4 or 1 1/2 inches long using a 1/4 inch plate

be careful not to over tighten the bolts or fitting when you put them in. it WILL make it leak.

so how tight? just snug? do i need washers or lock washers or just the bolt?

i think it actually tells you how tight on the orange sticker that comes on the bag. just don't get on it and try to tighten it as tight as you can make it. if you tighten it too much it will cause the plate at the top to leak, and they will leak pretty bad. got a leaky bag in the front of mine for mockup and pushing the truck off and on the trailer, and it will lay itself out fast.

i dont have the stickers anymore. what about the washers?

run a flat washer and a lock washer

I use Grade 8 3/8" 16, by 1.25" with a flat asher and lock washer, tighten until the lock washer flattens out and can hold the bolt from backing out. Thats all you need.

i use grade 8 on everything ....lol i even put intakes on with grade 8 stuff
