can i mig weld my tabs to the chunk and if so what heat setting do i use.

There have been a few disscusions on this subject. I haven't ever found the need to, nor do I suggest it. But I know that there are many who have done it successfully.

Read this thread. They get a little too side tracked on figuring out if its cast iron, but it will enlighten the situation.

But the short answer, is yes you can do it. But no one can really tell you what setting to weld it on. All welders are different. If you feel you are in tune with the machine you will probably be able to find the right setting.
