Fuel lines and emissions box removal ?'s

Needing to remove all the emissions stuff from underneath the bed.....'98 Frontier

Can i cap the lines and simply remove the box etc....? Or do they need to be left open to vent?

What is the "correct" way of doing this??

If you would have asked this question in about a month or so I would have been able to tell you.

I tore all of mine out last August. But I wont be at the point where I need to figure it out for atleast another month. So Im no help, sorry.
