ok i been on a lil break. One buddy said bolt sheet metal to outside n glass over it. I think that it will fall off. 2 other people said pull everything off and bolt it from inside then glass on top. then kitty hair it and go from there.
i never ever used this stuff before. Another local member on here said he would do it for 1200. I feel like I did this much of my own work why not do it myself. I have everything knocked to 40 grit.
Im sure its not that hard.
heres my mess

I just so happen to be in vegas this week, well I arrive tomorrow night and will be leaving on sat. How far are you away from the strip? We are staying at excalibur. I would be willing to stop by and give you some pointers on how I did mine. I would strap the steel from the inside, put mesh over the gap from the outside, and put resin over that, knock it down, do another layer or 2. Then pull them off, do the same from the inside, I probably had 8-10 layers by the time I was done. I didn't cut mine up like you did though either. I used c channel and spaced my fenders out from the bed 2", then I taped the heck out of the bed sides and then filled the gap. It was a lot of time taking them off and on, and getting the body lines right, which they are still not finished but the primer hides the waves in the body work. I thought this might be the better way as they are not in a bunch of pieces that could eventually crack, and stronger as technically they are in one piece. I have had them on now for I think 3 or 4 years with no cracks. Someday I will get around to finishing them and painting them.
Hit me up if you would like me to stop over and give some "moral" support.

looks like your on the right track.... DO NOT fiberglass over anything that you have bolted to the outside of your fender....... if you will get the outside all braced up remove the fender from the truck and do your resien and matt on the inside of your fender .. do alot of layers you want to rebuild the gap from the inside. the tin/sheetmetal on the outside in ONLY for hold your fiberglass and help mold it into place... after you have done lots of glassin on the outside ...and its dry then you filp the fender back over and remove all the tin you had on there and your fenders should be molded back together... the outside will need alittle glass and matt too but not nothin like the inside.....if you laid it in on the inside really nice and tight without alot of air bubbles.

Ok im moving all sheet metal to underside today and going to fiberglass it today. The shit is like 2cm thick. So I cut my matt lay down then aint brush away? Then after dry sand? Then add layer ? Is this correct?

NO NO NO leave the sheet metal on the outside of the fender and do your main reconstruction on the underside of the fender cause i wont be that pretty... when you pull the sheet metal off on the outside after your done on the underside it shouldnt require that much glass

you want to start with this
then take the fender off and do this

when you finish the inside take off you sheetmetal you should end up with this
that will leave you with just alittle glass work on the outside instead of a ass load
