Im looking to pick up a new shop compressor. I want somthing big enough to paint with, so around 80 gal and 5hp. wont it need around 10-12 CFM at 90psi to paint a car? anyway, what are some comressors you guys suggest?
come on, no one on here has any opinion on shop comressors?
I have the husky 60 gallon ...400 bux ... they also sell a 80 gallon ..BUT.. the 60 gallon 90 psi is at 10.2cfm
i have a 60 gal ingersolrand, was 1000 bucks but they claim something like 10 thousand hours of trouble free run time.
Emglo. Little pricy, but there is nothing better, comes with a preheater so air temp in shop doesnt really matter, they have a 2 year warr. and also dont break (or rarelly) I beat the crap out of mine and have had no problems....
so have any of you guys painted with your compressors? how have the worked?
I have a 7 horse 60 gallon i got from Home Depot I have painted more cars than i care to remember with it over the last 4 years and never had a problem with it. it is the same one sears offers but at half the price. I never noticed a significant drop in pressure that would affect painting and have done several overall paint jobs with it. For the money its well worth it at $400
I also have the 60 gallon compressor from Home Depot. I abuse it, hard, and all I do is change the oil in it. Well worth the $350-$400 it cost me.
I paid $10 for a 35 gallon Craftsman. Its loud, but it works great.
