Am i paying too much.

Looking at picking up a 1980 LUV next week for $1700 in near perfect condition. 85000 miles just needs a good paint job. Do you think im paying too much?

i paid $2000 for my 83 yota hilux. bought in on ebay so it was a bit more than that considering i had to fly to carolina and drive it back. all and all i spent about $2800.00. its in near perfect condition 120k original miles and get this - factory a/c!

I called a guy about a truck once. He said "All it needs is a paint job and it's straight off the showroom floor!" Yeah... NO! I show up and it's barely got a floorboard in it! Not to mention a crusty, runs-on-straight-ether-only motor.

yea, no kidding. i told the guy im tired of driving out to look at gold and only seeing shit. he assures me its nice but i'll just have to see in person.

1700 sounds like a good deal just look at the rockers real close and check the cab mounts and front floor pans. I overlooked mine and you can see what happened in my build thread I had to junk the whole body.
have u been to Luvtruck.com they got hella information and a forum on these trucks.
