Anyone know if/what the frame differences are from the 1st gen S-10 to the 2nd gen S-10? I'm wondering if you can use the front quarter of a 1st gen frame under a 2nd gen truck. i know its a shot in the dark but what the heck!

I'm pretty sure they're the same. I actually think the entire frame is the same.

That would be awesome! I can get an entire 1st gen frame in perfect condition for dirt cheap. Only thing is its for a 2nd gen.

no they arent. Chris the only difference is the front horns

As long as the body mounts are in the same relationship as the front suspension I can deal with the frame horns. This frame is cheap enought that I may just buy it to have it, reguardless if it works or not.

it will work in that aspect. it just wont completely fully bolt everything up.

are the bodymounts for the core support different, or just how the bumper brackets bolt?

all the body points are the same, only the actual bumper mounts on the frame horns are different. also, the frame isnt boxed back as for as the 2nd gen, and it has different e-brake mounting points but none of that should matter for what your doing.

hes trying to build a compartment to smuggle illegals, so the frame boxing might play a part....

Cris, how did you know? The e-brake mounts and boxed rails don't really matter that much as I will not be using it. I am more interested in the front third of the frame. If the only difference is the bumper mounts I think I am going to get it. I can make new mounts or whatever it takes to get a bumper on it.
