Alternator Amperage

I am going to replace the alternator in my 97 Ranger, what would be a good amp rating? I want to run two batteries, a DC700 compressor and 500 watts of stereo.

i know an explorer higher amp alternator is a direct bolt on, running 4 gauge from the alt to the battery and upgrading your grounds will make a bigger difference then a bigger alt IMO.
