One more mouth to feed. I just got this new ride home today. Its about a '48 chev COE. The vin plate is weathered so bad I cant get any numbers off it but I know just by certain characteristics of the truck that its a 48-50 model. Its a little rough but very fixable. Im not going to give my plans away up front, but defiantely expect a serious altitude adjustment. The body is straight as can be. The floorboard is weak and the cab corners are shot but its 60 years old and has sat in a junkyard for alot of time. Its missing a drivers door but i have that taken care of.

Worked on it a few hours after work today. GOOD NEWS. The oil, antifreeze, spark plugs, and inside the distributor cap are all as clean as can be. As if they were just put on today. I could not believe my eyes. Also the motor turns freely by the flywheel.

Upon cleaning out behind the seat I found the original snout crank, and a cool old ass street sign that says "NO TRUCKS" . Thats going on the wall. Also got that god awful mirror taken off and all the emblems taken off for re-chroming. I need some reccomendations for places to get chrome done. Also, does anyone know if I can get those front wheels in chrome? As in a new wheel?

Good News. Dropped the old oil, put in a new pan gasket, put in a new battery and got the old girl to crank over under her own power. Cranking with no fuel line hooked up or plug wires just to get the oil circulated. The bottom side of the motor looked great.
