I don't think I've ever done a project thread on SSM. But anyways here is some progress on a truck I started last weekend. Its a 98 s10 getting set up for 18s. Nothing too crazy compared to alot of the full builds out there but this is just a bag job.
The Victim
Laser cut parts
Bench building the crossmember
Getting the wishbone and notch ready to go
Mocked up on the floor
Installed and Wishbone built
Plating the frame (stiffening ribs welded inside)
Boxed Up
Bag Mounts in place
Mounting the shocks
A little bit of work from under the cab
Capped off the shock crossmember mounts
Air tank mounts in place. (waiting for 1 more tank before I weld them up) Mounts still bolt to the frame to service the tanks if needed.
All thats really left to do is pull the dif out and finish the welding on the tabs. I also have some gussets to add to the 'hoop' over the cast section. The front is done. Only shitty thing is the customer is taking it home to plumb and wire it over winter so I wont have any finished pics till spring haha.
Nice clean work, looks good.
thats pretty badass for JUST A SIMPLE BAG JOB. HAHAHA . simple i thought was over the axle but w/e. haha look s damn good man.
Thats a big ass juicebox.
Nice work Joel.
I love it looiks clean and very nice. Definately screams quality and time put into it to make it look great.
Looks really great, sturdy construction is worth it's weight in gold. Any concern of adding support to the upper bag mounts to fight torsional movement?
