If you went to the link you noticed it defines all rods.
My only argument is that rat and traditional rods are pretty much the same thing except for the fact that a traditional hot rod is an accurate re-creation of a Hot Rod from the same era. The picture above is clearly no a period correct restoration.

no, traditional isnt a "recreation" of what was, its what YOU want to build. It could be a full out custom built frame/body with a suicide front, or a tudor chopped, sectioned, channeled, and painted bright pink. while you may get hated for the color you painted it.....doesnt make it less of a "traditional rod". It's the style car it is. Period correct is just another limb or whatever.
We have minitrucks.....and hack jobs.
They have traditionals....and rat rods. That's all a rat rod is, is a hacked up traditional.

Wow who the hell really cares. It is still nicer than what I drrive daily. I would gladly take it if it was given to me....and sell it to buy a minitruck!

We could go on and on but whats the point. Traditional is customizing them the way they would have been back in the day, hence the name traditional. Some of the cars and trucks built today could fall into both categories because they are built to resemble the old clunkers from that era but are actually well built, high quality vehicles. To me, a rat rod is just a POS, hacked up ride, that looks like ass and isn't safe. Rat rod is an offensive term to most. Its a yuppie term to me, something people say because they don't know any better.

why is everyone argueing their knowledge on hot rods, rat rods, and traditional rods on a custom truck site? Really...how many of us own these cars to have a foot to stand on in the arguement?
