tilt bed help question

hey guys i am trying to find ways you all have done your tilt beds without hydros. i want to have mine tilt to the side but i am not sure what method i need to use. i was thinking air actuators or the linear actuators but i'm not sure. any help on how you all did it would be much appreciated. thanks

I'm using linear actuators on mine. the trouble I'm having is finding some with enough load capacity and travel. since my bed tilts to the rear it has to get alot more travle and alot more stress on the actuator. plus I'm needing one with 12" of travel to lift my bed full 90*. for your application there are some on ebay at a decent price. 500 lb lifting capacity and 6-8-10" travel models for around $60-80 each. also if you're doing it to the side, you can use bags, but it will put them bending at odd angles without some pivoting mounts

a friend of mine used two bags bolted together, takes almost no air! kinda looks like a big donkey di#k though! if the link above doesnt work his log in is draggin94ranger

how would i hinge it with the actuators? do you guys have any pics so i can see? i want it to lift high enough for me to fill up my gas tank w/o problem. thanks.

i used airshocks on a mitz. worked out really good. Took about 90 psi to lift it and i was able to tilt the bed about 75 degrees back. As far as hinges goes, I used a couple of 4 link poly-bushings

any suggestions on how i should go about accomplishing this to the side? this is a mod i have not done before. i am looking for enough lift to fill my gas tank comfortably, thats pretty much it for now until i have a crazy jungle gym for a frame like some of you all do. lol just getting tired of reaching over my bedside and having to keep the hose from hitting it. thanks.
