I finally got to start installing the air bag parts on my '78 today!
Had to wait two weeks for half of the parts to come in and the rest should be here tommorow. About the setup its going to have a forward triangulated 4 link with the bags on the lower bars. Up front Im going to build some tubular upper control arms and triangulate the lower arms to eliminate the strut rods. I want to put a Slam Re-7 up front but I dont think thats going to happen so I probably have to go with Re-6's. After I bag it Im going to bodydrop it 2.5'' and may suicide the doors. Still deciding on what color I want it though.

Anyways heres some progress I made today, but grinding off all of those brackets was a PITA so I didn't get too much done.

Im kinda confused where did that line come from?

Why are the upper bars so much shorter?

When I was orderin the bars I only had enough money at the time to order the lower bars. When it came time to order the upper bars I forgot about the front bed mount. I didn't want to have to make a new one so I just got shorter uppers to clear the bed mount. Im going to set the bag on the bar far enough to just get 12'' of lift. Should I get shorter lowers or will it be ok?

Heres an update from yesterday

Finished up on the notches and lowered the front as much as I could without doing any cutting. Tommorow I'll try to get it to lay out in the front.



I stil have to cut off the leaf spring mounts and a crossmember that hangs down 1.5'' lower than the frame. I couldn't resist seeing it layed out so I just hacked the leaf spring in half. It looks really sh***y right now but thats not how Im going to have it setup.
