i need help fast please

a buddy of mine has a set of protocol door poppers. the problem is the relays. how do they hook up? we done like the instuctions say but it catches fire everytime. its also dosent call for a relay ground. now i know it needs a ground but they wont work with one. can someone please help. how do they wire up. i need exact info if it isnt to much trouble thanks
