cashing in a gold coin?

ive got this gold coin that ive looked up online and it seems to be worth $680, anybody know where i could take this to cash it in. ive been calling the bank to see what they tell me but all im getting is 15 minutes of recording saying "if you would like to blah,blah,blah press 1".

check around for coin dealers in your area, they won't pay quite as much as its full value, but its a start. That or watch for private collectors at any coin shows that are advertised in your area.

yeah i went to a coin dealer, they gave me $630 for it. it was a South African Krugerrand 1 oz of gold!

thats not too bad, they usually pay way under value.

i looked it up online and i think it said it was worth $670 and i got $630 so im not complaining.
