im putting a fuel pump in a 1991 chevy blazer, got it in ok but it doesnt seem to get power i guess (im electronically retarded), is there a hidden fuckin fuse or relay that good be burnt up? any help or info would be great!
sounds like the relay. alsop check the ground on the tank.
ground on the tank is good, i guess ill be lookin for the damn relay. what is the red bulb with the m mean beside your name James!
you wouldnt happen to know where this relay is would you? usually trucks have a fuse/relay box
under the hood but all we could find is the little fuse box under the dash. if no one knows
i guess ill be going to buy a Chiltons or Haynes manual.
im guessing your a moderator?
yea im a mod. all data says its on the wiper cowl drivers side.
drivers side.. above the brake booster is 2 relays.. 1 is AC, 2 is fuel pump.. the relay sshould click if the relay is getting power.
the bulkhead on the firewall under the booster, has 3 parts.. 1 is the main harness.. 1 is the turn signal/headlights/taillights/FUEL PUMP and the other runs to something else (i forget).
if you have blinkers and shit.. you have that connected and tightened in right.
if you dont.. check that.. it goes in sequent with the other 2 pieces.
if you dont hear it clicking.. check the red, pink or orange wire for power (i forget which color it is there).. if you get power and it doesnt click.. its the relay...
if it clicks, then you need to check if you're getting power at the pump.. if you are..
get a 12v battery and a piece of wire.. ground the pump and stick a power to it.. if it turns on.. then the pump is good.. if its doesnt..t he pump is bad.
hope this helps.
i appreciate it James and Kut it, those are the
only 2 relays we came across yesterday as we were workin on something else. ill check them. and i found ALL DATA before i asked this question but it seems you have to pay to use their damn site, is there any place good online for wiring diagrams, etc, etc, that lets you look for free?
