Just wondering what you guys thought would be a good shock to use that will still let me get decent lift as well as lay out completely up front. Im running 20s up front with a 235/45 tire. Need enough lift to clear for turning but thats it.

Thanks

Sorry if that was a little vague, you can view my profile to see what all I have done to get a better idea of what might fit my needs.

Thanks again in advance.

whats up dude, i live in hickory ky. but i work off of kentucky ave on third street in downtown paducah. when you get it up and running we'll have to roll sometime. but to answer your question, i dont even run shock in the front of my toyota. its heavy enough up front to keep it down...some areas of road it will bounce if im locked up but nothing major. i have a mono shock in the rear to keep the rear under control but thats it. your blazer im sure weighs alot more up front then my toyota, if it were me i wouldnt run shocks up front. the weight should hold it down fine.

lmao.

It has nothing to do with 'holding it down'.

Your truck may seem Ok without shocks. Throw some shocks on and you will be blown away if you think it rides good without.

s10/blazer guys use 91 nissan hardbody 2wd front shocks. They have the right amount of stroke and are a stud style upper mount if you are using an SD style bracket.

I'm workin on shocks for my blazer (bd'd on a 245/35r22) but i didnt want to run a stud style shock (went with loop and bushing top and bottom). I found one with a similar stroke to the nissan shock. They are from a 60s VW btu I havent had much time to build the mounts yet.

i just got mine, i was told they were exactly right for the art bolt on shock mounts, they're in the car and i'm in my underwear ready for bed, so i'll shoot you the part number tomorrow. I was told they give you the same lift as without shocks, but compress enough to lay out.

they're monroe matic plus part# 31029. I had to order them from Oreilly, but they were there the next morning, $43 and some change. Jon at DB Rods and Miniz gave me that part number, he said they work better for the art control arms and bolt on shock relocators than the art shocks do. Like i said, i have'nt put them on yet, but that's what i was told, and Jon knows his shit.

The reason guys think their trucks ride fine without front shocks is because they learn how to use their right foot as a shock, lol.

If none of the other suggestions help (which I'm sure they will) you can always measure the stroke you need and just hit up napa, ask for a shock book and start scanning through the pages for the right one. Good luck.

You can also look through Monroe's shock books on their site, no need to go to a store.
